Hello, I’m Gursimrat

My journey with GS Media Arts began in 2012, when I was a Grade 7 student in Patiala, Punjab, India. With only a basic computer and mobile phone, I started exploring graphic design as a hobby. I was fascinated by how typography, colours, layouts and visual elements could transform a simple idea into a strong and meaningful design. Over time, that curiosity developed into a serious passion and eventually became a professional freelance career.

While continuing my studies in business, I kept building GS Media Arts alongside my academic responsibilities. I began taking on freelance graphic design projects for businesses, artists, singers, celebrities and brands across North India. My work gradually expanded into logo design, brand identity, social media creatives, promotional campaigns, posters, packaging, marketing materials and digital advertising.

After completing my studies, I worked full-time as an Accounts Executive with a company in Mohali. At the same time, I continued managing freelance design projects through GS Media Arts. Balancing a full-time job with creative work taught me discipline, time management, client communication and the importance of delivering high-quality work within deadlines. It also strengthened my understanding of business operations, which continues to influence the way I approach branding and commercial design.

In December 2022, I moved to Canada to pursue postgraduate studies in business. Although I had originally hoped to study in a creative field, I continued with my business education while actively looking for opportunities in graphic design and visual communication.

During my postgraduate studies, I continued developing my portfolio, technical skills and professional network. After exploring different opportunities, I secured a position as a graphic designer with a real estate development company in British Columbia. This role allowed me to bring my design background into a professional corporate environment and further strengthen my experience in real estate branding, advertising campaigns, social media design, brochures, signage, print production, and large-scale marketing projects.

Today, GS Media Arts operates from Vancouver, Canada, and Punjab, India. I provide graphic design, branding, logo design, social media content, packaging design, marketing collateral, digital advertising and print design services to clients across different industries.

​

Throughout my journey, I have continuously developed my technical skills using professional Adobe software. I have been learning and working with Adobe Creative Cloud tools since the early stages of GS Media Arts, including Photoshop and Illustrator for graphic design and branding, Lightroom for photo editing and color correction, and InDesign for brochures, presentations, and print materials. These applications remain an important part of my day-to-day professional workflow and allow me to deliver consistent, polished, and production-ready designs across digital and print platforms.

Alongside graphic design, I have also developed a strong passion for filmmaking and visual storytelling. Over the years, I have worked on freelance video projects, including promotional videos, music-related content, and social media videos. These experiences have helped me better understand composition, storytelling, editing, and creative direction, while also strengthening the way I approach design for film, entertainment, and digital campaigns.

My goal is to combine creativity with strategy and produce design work that not only looks professional but also communicates clearly, strengthens brand identity, and supports business growth. From a childhood interest in design to a freelance career in India and a professional graphic design journey in Canada, GS Media Arts continues to grow through passion, consistency and continuous learning.
